songs i liked in high school

the title says it all, really.

fuckyoulizprince:

ignore the fact that Kris Roe looks like Guy Fieri: this song is the end all of highschool pop punk jams.

obviously this was bound to make it onto this blog sooner or later. such a jam.

catch22- keasbey nights

if you had been able to drive, you would have driven around blasting this out the windows.

new found glory- it never snows in florida

you know where it DOES snow? my heart.

something corporate- konstantine

nearly ten minutes may sound like a long time, but when you’re lying on the bathroom tile with headphones on, this shit lasts 30 seconds, so you have to listen to it on repeat.

tess wiley- delicate skin

if you’re like me, you bought the emo diaries comps, and your reward for being a sad sack of shit and making it all the way through was this hidden track. it wasn’t until years later you found out it was the chick from sixpence none the richer [WHAT?] and that shit blew your mind.

the juliana theory- don’t push love away

that skater boy you dug in middle school got a haircut and has lots of ladies interested in him now. they are cooler, older, and have their license. you totally found him first, but he doesn’t want to kiss while you listen to NOFX anymore. mega bummer. time to listen to the juliana theory and write a sad letter to him.

further seems forever- snowbirds and townies

your stance on further seems forever pre vs post chris carrabba was about as important as israel vs palestine. in fact, more important because you were 15 and didn’t care about anything outside of your home state, let alone all the way in the middle east [which unfortunately, you could not locate on a map].

rocking horse winner- steps in sand

oh my god, who is that girl who’s singing with dashboard confessional? i need to know before anybody else does so i can correct them when they’re wrong about it. and i need to search napster for some of their songs real quick. crap, this is the only song i can find…

saves the day- sell my old clothes, i’m off to heaven

the go-to rock out song. in the car, on your discman, in the kitchen before school. it didn’t matter, because you brought the party.

skankin’ pickle- i’m in love with a girl named spike

complete with a fan video with clips from degrassi

fun fact: that was her actual hair. in real life.
